Plan the Room Before You Order
Overhead tracking removes the floor unit, but ceiling height, mounting position, swing clearance and screen safety still determine whether the package fits.
Recommended Mount Height
ProTee recommends a 9- to 10-foot ceiling, with 10 feet considered optimal.
Mounting Position
Position VX in front of the hitting area according to final ceiling height and complete calibration.
Computer Required
A compatible Windows gaming computer is required and is not included unless specifically listed in the offer.
ProTee VX does not require a set ball-flight distance to track the shot. You still need enough ball-to-screen distance for safe rebound management, a clear full swing and a projector layout that fits your selected bay.
Before ordering: Confirm ceiling height, joist or mounting structure, full swing clearance, ball position, enclosure size and projector location. A 10-foot-tall Birdie Bay requires more than a 10-foot room ceiling once assembly and clearance are considered.
What Else Will I Need?
Gaming Computer
ProTee recommends Windows 10 or 11, a modern high-performance processor, 16 GB or more of memory and a capable gaming graphics card for the best experience.
Courses and Software
ProTee Labs is included. Third-party simulator software such as GSPro or TGC 2019 and its licenses are separate.
Mounting and Connections
Projector mount, HDMI run, adapters, extension cords and finished room flooring depend on the installation and are separate unless listed.

No. ProTee VX is designed to read standard golf balls and clubs without reflective stickers or special markings.
Can right- and left-handed golfers play without moving VX?
Yes. Its configurable overhead hitting zone supports both right- and left-handed play without repositioning the launch monitor. Your room and mat layout must still provide safe swing clearance for both golfers.
Is simulator software included?
ProTee Labs practice software is included without a recurring ProTee software fee. Third-party course software, subscriptions and course packages are separate.
How quickly does VX show results?
ProTee states that feedback is delivered in under 0.3 seconds, helping the projected shot respond naturally after impact.
What ceiling height do I need?
ProTee recommends mounting VX between 9 and 10 feet, with 10 feet optimal. Confirm that the chosen Birdie enclosure, your swing and the final mounting structure all fit beneath the finished ceiling.
Which Birdie Bay should I choose?
Start with usable room width, finished ceiling height and full swing clearance. Then select the preferred 4:3 or 16:9 image shape and verify the projector position against the actual visible screen opening.
Will the enclosure contain every mishit?
No enclosure can guarantee containment of every shot. Maintain complete club clearance, keep people and pets outside the hitting area, cover exposed structure and add room protection anywhere a golf ball could leave the enclosure.
