Helpful Answers

286 Forged Wedge FAQs

What type of golfer is the 286 Forged Wedge designed for?

It is a versatile forged wedge suited to golfers who prioritize feel, trajectory control, dependable spin and clean turf interaction rather than an oversized game-improvement profile.

What does forged DT-4 steel feel like?

DT-4 steel is selected for its soft, responsive impact sensation. That feedback can help golfers judge strike quality and control partial-shot distance more confidently.

What does the three-port design do?

The three-port head construction is designed to refine weight placement and produce a more optimized ball flight without sacrificing useful spin or stopping power.

How should I choose my wedge lofts?

Start with the loft of your pitching wedge and build consistent gaps from there. Many golfers target approximately four to six degrees between wedges, but swing speed, delivery and preferred shot types should also influence the final setup.

Can the shaft, grip, length or lie be customized?

Custom-build options may include shaft, flex, grip, grip size, playing length and lie adjustments. Available selections and pricing should be confirmed using the product options shown on this page.

Shipping & Returns

Grater Golf is committed to helping you order with confidence. Because we sell everything from small golf accessories to custom clubs and full simulator systems, shipping methods, lead times, and return eligibility can vary by product.

Multiple fulfillment locations: Orders may ship from Grater Golf or directly from a manufacturer.30-day standard returns. Eligible items must be unused and in original condition. Custom items, Personalized, cut, assembled, or made-to-order products are generally final sale. Freight inspection required: Inspect large deliveries before signing and report damage immediately.

Product-specific terms control. A product page, written quote, order confirmation, or manufacturer policy may list a different lead time, return window, cancellation charge, restocking fee, or final-sale condition. When it does, those product-specific terms apply to that item.

Shipping and fulfillment

Where we ship

Our standard online shipping options apply to eligible addresses within the contiguous United States. Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, or international destinations may require a separate quote and may not be available for every product.

We may be unable to ship certain products to P.O. boxes, APO/FPO addresses, or locations that cannot accept freight delivery. Please contact us before ordering if your address has special delivery restrictions.

Shipping charges

Products marked as eligible for free shipping will ship free by the standard method stated on the product page or at checkout. Oversized, heavy, freight, expedited, remote-area, installation-related, or special-handling charges may apply. Any available shipping charge will be displayed at checkout or included in a written quote.

Inventory and manufacturer-direct shipping

Grater Golf holds inventory for some products. Other products—including many launch monitors, projectors, simulator enclosures, impact screens, mats, components, and accessories—may ship directly from the manufacturer or distributor. This helps reduce handling time but may result in separate packages, different carriers, and more than one tracking number.

An “in stock” indication may reflect inventory held by Grater Golf, a manufacturer, or a distribution partner. Availability is subject to final confirmation. If an item is unavailable, delayed, or backordered after an order is placed, we will contact you with available options.

Processing and lead times

Estimated processing or lead times shown on product pages are business-day estimates, not guaranteed delivery dates. Weekends, holidays, manufacturer production schedules, customization, payment review, carrier delays, weather, and freight appointment availability may affect delivery.

Custom clubs, cut shafts, assembled components, simulator screens, enclosures, studio packages, and other configured products may require additional production time. Please verify time-sensitive requirements with Grater Golf before ordering.

Order confirmation and tracking

An order-confirmation email confirms that we received your order; it does not guarantee availability or shipment. Tracking information is sent when it becomes available. For multi-item orders, tracking notices may arrive separately.

Address accuracy and delivery

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address, telephone number, and email address. Contact us immediately if an address needs to be corrected. Once an order has entered fulfillment or shipped, an address change may be unavailable or may result in carrier fees.

Some high-value shipments require an adult signature. Once tracking shows delivery to the address provided, contact us promptly if you cannot locate the package. We will assist with available carrier procedures, but replacement or refund eligibility will depend on the carrier investigation and the circumstances of delivery.

Freight and oversized deliveries

Simulator enclosures, screens, mats, turf, projectors, complete studio packages, and other large items may ship by freight. Unless a written quote states otherwise, freight service is curbside delivery and does not include inside delivery, unpacking, assembly, installation, debris removal, stairs, restricted-access service, or a liftgate.

The freight carrier may contact you to schedule delivery. A responsible adult must be available to inspect and accept the shipment.

Inspect before signing

  1. Count all cartons, pallets, and pieces.
  2. Inspect the packaging and products for punctures, crushing, tears, wet areas, broken bands, missing cartons, or other damage.
  3. Photograph the shipment from multiple angles before unpacking.
  4. Write all visible damage or shortages on the carrier’s delivery receipt before signing. Do not write “subject to inspection” as a substitute for describing damage.
  5. If damage is extensive, refuse the affected shipment and contact Grater Golf immediately.

Visible freight damage or shortages must be reported to Grater Golf within 24 hours of delivery. Keep the product, pallet, cartons, and all packaging until the claim is resolved. Failure to inspect, document, and report freight damage promptly may limit or eliminate the remedies available from the carrier or manufacturer.

Parcel damage, shortages, and incorrect items

Please inspect parcel deliveries promptly. Report damaged, missing, incomplete, or incorrect items within five calendar days of delivery by contacting sales@gratergolf.com. Include your order number, a description of the issue, photographs of the shipping label, outer packaging, inner packaging, and product, plus photographs of any serial number when applicable.

Do not discard packaging or return an item without instructions. We may coordinate the claim with the carrier, manufacturer, or distributor. When a verified shipping error or transit-damage claim is approved, Grater Golf will arrange an appropriate replacement, repair, parts shipment, refund, or other remedy.

Order changes and cancellations

Contact us as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel an order. We will make a reasonable effort to help, but changes and cancellations are not guaranteed.

  • Standard items: An order may be changed or cancelled without penalty if it has not entered fulfillment, been submitted to a manufacturer, or shipped.
  • Manufacturer-direct orders: Once released to a supplier, the supplier’s cancellation fees or restrictions may apply.
  • Custom or configured items: Once materials have been ordered, a shaft has been cut, a club has been assembled, a screen or enclosure has entered production, or other custom work has begun, the order cannot normally be changed or cancelled.
  • Shipped orders: A shipped order cannot be cancelled. If eligible, it must be handled under the return process below.

Any nonrecoverable manufacturer, freight, payment, customization, or administrative charge disclosed before cancellation may be deducted from an approved cancellation refund to the extent permitted by law.

Standard return policy

Eligible standard products may be returned within 30 calendar days after delivery. You must request and receive return authorization from Grater Golf before shipping anything back.

Return eligibility

To qualify, an item must be:

  • Unused, uninstalled, unassembled, and in new, resalable condition;
  • Free of marks, wear, dirt, damage, odors, or signs of play or testing;
  • Returned with its original box, inserts, protective materials, accessories, manuals, cables, hardware, promotional items, and proof of purchase; and
  • Shipped to the return location provided in the authorization instructions.

Return shipping and restocking fees

Unless an approved return results from our error, confirmed transit damage, or a covered defect, the customer is responsible for return-shipping costs, insurance, and risk of loss during return transit. Original shipping and freight charges are nonrefundable.

Approved discretionary returns may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 15% of the item price. A higher manufacturer restocking fee may apply when disclosed on the product page, quote, order confirmation, or return authorization. Products returned with missing packaging, accessories, damage, installation marks, or other loss in value may receive a reduced refund or be refused.

How to request a return

  1. Email sales@gratergolf.com with your order number and reason for return.
  2. Wait for written approval, the correct return address, and any return instructions.
  3. Package the item securely using all original packaging materials.
  4. Ship the return with tracking and sufficient insurance by the deadline in your authorization.

Unauthorized returns, refused deliveries, and returns sent to the wrong warehouse may be refused or may incur additional shipping and handling charges.

Non-returnable and final-sale items

Unless defective or incorrect, the following items are not eligible for return:

  • Custom-built, personalized, engraved, monogrammed, special-order, or made-to-order products;
  • Golf clubs that have been built, adjusted, cut, tipped, gripped, shafted, bent, assembled, or otherwise customized;
  • Cut shafts, installed grips, adapters, ferrules, components, and other altered club-building products;
  • Custom-size impact screens, enclosures, netting, turf, flooring, padding, and simulator-room materials;
  • Products that have been installed, mounted, assembled, hit into, used, registered, or activated;
  • Digital products, software, subscriptions, memberships, licenses, activation codes, and downloadable products after delivery or activation;
  • Gift cards;
  • Clearance, closeout, discontinued, open-box, demo, used, or products marked “final sale”; and
  • Installation, design, consultation, labor, travel, delivery, or other services already performed.

Manufacturer-specific return rules may supersede this standard policy. Please contact us before purchasing if return eligibility is important to your decision.

Refunds

We will inspect an authorized return after it reaches the designated return location. If approved, the refund will be issued to the original payment method for the eligible amount, less applicable restocking fees, return-label costs, nonrefundable shipping or freight, missing-item charges, and other disclosed deductions.

Please allow up to 10 business days after inspection for Grater Golf to process an approved refund. Your bank, card issuer, financing provider, or payment service may require additional time to post it. We do not control third-party posting times.

If the original payment method is unavailable or a refund cannot legally or technically be returned to it, we will work with you on an appropriate permitted alternative.

Exchanges

The fastest way to obtain a different eligible item is generally to complete an authorized return and place a new order. Do not send an item back until Grater Golf confirms whether an exchange or return-and-reorder process applies.

Defects and manufacturer warranties

Many products are covered by a manufacturer’s limited warranty. Warranty coverage, duration, registration requirements, exclusions, and remedies vary by manufacturer. A defect claim may be handled directly by the manufacturer or with assistance from Grater Golf.

Warranty coverage generally does not include normal wear, misuse, abuse, accidental damage, improper installation, failure to follow instructions, unauthorized modifications, cosmetic damage, commercial use where excluded, or damage caused by unsuitable room conditions, power, moisture, impact, or third-party equipment.

Contact us with your order number, serial number, description of the issue, troubleshooting already attempted, and clear photographs or video. Do not dispose of or return the product until instructed.

Simulator packages and split returns

A simulator package may contain products supplied by several manufacturers. Components may ship separately and may have different lead times, warranties, cancellation terms, and return eligibility. Returning one component does not automatically cancel or make the remaining package components returnable.

Package discounts, promotional items, financing terms, and bundled pricing may be recalculated if part of a package is returned. Any free or promotional item associated with a returned purchase must also be returned in new condition, or its retail value may be deducted from the refund.

Installation and room compatibility

Customers are responsible for verifying room dimensions, swing clearance, structural support, electrical capacity, mounting requirements, throw distance, screen size, aspect ratio, computer specifications, software compatibility, and compliance with applicable building or safety requirements before ordering or installation.

Builder recommendations and sales guidance are preliminary and depend on the measurements and information provided. Products are not returnable merely because a room, computer, network, mounting location, or third-party component does not meet published requirements when the product is otherwise correctly supplied.

Policy changes and consumer rights

We may update this policy from time to time. The version in effect when your order is placed will generally apply to that order, together with any product-specific terms disclosed during the sale.

Nothing in this policy limits rights or remedies that cannot be waived under applicable law.
