Aspect-ratio note: The GT2400HDR has a native 16:9 resolution. A 16:9 Birdie Bay makes fuller use of that widescreen format. A 4:3 bay is useful where room width is limited, but projector output and image geometry should be planned for the selected screen opening.
Plan the Full RoomβNot Just the Enclosure
The Birdie Bay itself is five feet deep, but Rainmaker is a radar launch monitor and requires additional space in front of and behind the golf ball.
Monitor Behind the Ball
Position Rainmaker directly behind the ball, level with the hitting surface and aligned with the target line.
Ball-to-Screen Flight
Blue Tees recommends at least ten feet of open indoor ball flight so the radar has enough time to track the shot.
Tracking Footprint
Allow at least fifteen feet from the launch monitor to the impact screen, plus additional space for the golfer, backswing and safe movement.
Important room-depth requirement: A room that only accommodates a shallow hitting position may not provide enough radar-tracking distance for Rainmaker. Measure from the impact screen to the intended ball position and then another five feet behind the ball. Allow extra clearance behind the device and confirm that every golfer can make a completely unrestricted swing.

The Optoma GT2400HDR combines 4,200-lumen laser output with Full HD resolution and a fixed 0.496:1 short-throw lens. It accepts compatible 4K and HDR input while displaying a native 1920 Γ 1080 image.

Approximate lens distance equals the intended visible image width multiplied by 0.496. Always calculate from the actual visible screen widthβnot the enclosureβs outside widthβand verify the final mount position before drilling.

Is this a complete golf simulator package?
This package combines the Birdie enclosure and impact screen, Blue Tees Rainmaker launch monitor, Optoma short-throw projector, Carlβs HotShot hitting mat, precut enclosure frame and protective foam. A compatible computer or mobile device, simulator software licenses, projector mount, specialized cabling and finished room flooring may be required depending on your installation.
How much room depth does Rainmaker need indoors?
Position Rainmaker five feet directly behind the ball and provide at least ten feet from the ball to the impact screen. That creates a minimum 15-foot radar-tracking footprint. You must also allow additional room for the golfer, backswing, device protection and safe movement.
Can Rainmaker work without a phone, tablet or internet?
Yes. Rainmaker has a built-in display and three standalone training modes. A compatible connected device is needed for LAUNCH App analytics, stored sessions, expanded visualizations and supported simulator-platform features.
Do I need radar-enhanced golf balls?
Rainmaker can read standard golf balls. For indoor use, Blue Tees recommends radar-enhanced balls such as Titleist RCT when improved spin and directional consistency is desired. Enable the appropriate radar-ball setting when using them.
Can right- and left-handed golfers use this package?
Rainmaker automatically supports right- and left-handed golfers because it is positioned behind the ball. The room must still have enough width and club clearance for each golfer. The included mat layout and intended ball position should be confirmed before installation.
Which Birdie Bay size should I choose?
Start with your usable room width, ceiling height and full swing clearance. Then consider the preferred 4:3 or 16:9 image, actual visible screen opening, projector position and Rainmaker tracking distance. Grater Golf can help review these measurements before you order.
How long does assembly take?
The Birdie enclosure can typically be assembled in approximately two hours when the room and components are prepared. Total installation time varies with bay size, projector mounting, wiring, room access, protective upgrades and installer experience.
Will the enclosure contain every possible mishit?
No enclosure can guarantee containment of every shot. Maintain complete club clearance, keep people and pets outside the hitting area, cover exposed structure and add ceiling, side or room protection anywhere a golf ball could leave the enclosure.
