Penetrating flight
Low spin and low torque help keep the ball flight strong and predictable, especially into the wind.
The original Project X steel iron shaft: firm, consistent and low spinning
Project X · Golf ShaftsProject X is the steel iron shaft many fitters use as a benchmark for consistency and control. It is built for a strong, penetrating ball flight with low spin and low torque, which suits players who want to hold their line and control distance from the long irons down to the wedges. Five flexes from 5.0 to 7.0 cover a wide range of swing speeds.

Why golfers choose it
Low spin and low torque help keep the ball flight strong and predictable, especially into the wind.
From 5.0 at 110 grams up to 7.0 at 130 grams, each step adds stiffness and 5 grams of weight.
Taper-tip shafts are sold by length for each iron, from 40.5 inches for a 3-iron to 37 inches for a wedge.

As a rough guide, 5.5 plays like a regular, 6.0 like a stiff, 6.5 like an X-stiff and 7.0 goes beyond X-stiff. The 41-inch 0.370-inch tip option comes in 5.5, 6.0 and 6.5 only.
